Weekend Yoga Retreat
Friday May 31st - Sunday June 2nd 2024
with an option to stay until Monday June 3rd
The Cattle Shed, Grindleford, Peak District, Derbyshire
We are very excited to welcome you to a restful and luxurious yoga weekend retreat at The Cattle Shed, Grindleford.
Nestled in Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District National Park, The Cattle Shed is a beautifully renovated barn conversion with gorgeous spacious rooms, awe inspiring living spaces with views across the valley and our very own yoga studio.
Your weekend will include 6 Dru & Yin yoga sessions, 4 meditations, 3 yoga nidra (deep relaxations), 2 guided walks, a sound bath with bowls and drums, fireside sits with spicy chai, opportunities for river dips and more...
We have also intentionally included free time in our programme so there will be plenty of time for you have some time to yourself or to chat with other like-minded souls - whatever your preference.
Here is your programme, all outside as much as possible:
Arrival on Friday afternoon / early evening, we'll welcome you with an introduction to our theme for the weekend and do some gentle yoga to stretch you out after your journey. Our chefs will prepare a wonderful dinner and once that's settled, we'll have another Yin yoga practice to help you unwind. Maybe it’ll be a night for star-gazing if the skies are clear, and we can sit around our fire pit soaking up the atmosphere of the big sky above, or maybe we'll cosy up inside; watch a feel-good film in the cinema room or watch the valley's wildlife from the comfort of the lounge.
On Saturday, following morning mindfulness in pjs and a delicious breakfast, join us for a session of yoga - hopefully outside overlooking Hope Valley - followed by a guided relaxation up in our yoga room. We’ll then head out for a guided walk to explore the river and it's valley.
A vegetarian lunch will be served in the open plan kitchen / living space, and as with all your meals, you are welcome to take it outside if you like!
The afternoon includes some time out to relax reading a book or enjoying a coffee on the outside terrace. Or maybe you fancy a bit of wild swimming in the river adjacent to the property or want to drive yourself to one of the nearby villages or Padley Gorge? We can help you decide and plan your afternoon. It’s then time for a late afternoon yoga session.
Our evening meal will be a vegetarian Indian feast, and you're invited to bring your own drink to have with your meal should you wish. After dinner has settled, indulge in relaxing Yin yoga, a delicious yoga nidra & sound bath, followed by a fireside cup of chai before heading to your comfy bed.
On Sunday, early morning mindfulness sets us up for the day ahead then we'll tuck into a cooked breakfast.
A guided walk follows and then back to our yoga studio for a yoga session and guided relaxation. We'll have our farewell lunch on the terrace, if the weather’s kind, and then check everyone out of the house by 2.30pm. Once you are checked out, feel free to hang out a while longer if you like, and depart at 4pm.
If you’re really not ready to head home just yet, why not stay an extra night in this beautiful part of the world. You can book your extra night with us before you come or on the spur of the moment on Sunday. This extra night is on a B&B basis and there are plenty of country pubs nearby to book for your evening meal on the Sunday. Check out for your extended stay is 10am on Monday.
